After photo shopping almost all of my photos, i have noticed that i have missed a few items, from my breadth. So we will have an eventful day tomorrow scrambling.

OPA

By far the best OPA sesh. I got to see some really sick pots, including the one below. The pot below is designed with a single bottle opener. yes a bottle opener. That is amazing. I really wanted one of his pots but they were super expensive. =(




Puppies in the studio!

After a sad day. I came in to throw with puppies in hand. I had an "okay" throwing session... I guess it was pretty good considering that one of my finished Urns was either taken or broken.

So.. My concentration is finished. All that is left is to glaze and fire! I am pretty excited. Now I have a few questions. For example: can the Urns i made be raku fired? I mean they aren't meant to hold water. but if they were to hold water. could i glaze the inside normally? (the reason it might hold water would be if it were to rain where the urn is going... it might get kinda wet... [duh.]) UMmmmm.  SO!...

URNS!

FINAL PROJECTS!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!!!
URNS. SO my grandma asked me to make her three urns. thus my final 3 projects. Yes it is slightly strange of a question from my grandmother, but it is for a good cause. One will be brought to Africa to a specific Bayobob* tree, while one will stay in her home. The final one will be brought so a place of her choice. So... yeah.

* I think i spelt this correctly

Oh shit!

Today I had an "Oh Shit" moment. When I was told that portfolios are due, completed/photographed/edited/and stuff... At the end of April... I felt sick to my stomach. I have so much stuff to do!

I tried to make progress on glazing my pots today, but that failed miserably upon the glaze taking forever to dry... So take two next class...

Robotics

Over spring break we had our 2011 robotics competition at the memorial coliseum, there were 50+ teams, and their robots. I was the driver for our robot, and we did quite well in the early matches, until we started having mechanical problems, such as the chain stretching and the claw of the robot bending upon a brutal impact from another team. Although we did not win, it was a successful season, and a fun competition.

Teapot!

I have decided to throw a teapot. The style I am going after is a single/personalized teapot. A skinny tall form. A teapot that you would use on a chilly morning in the winter. So the form must make you feel warm...

Liquor Bottle

This week I have my liquor bottle in the greenware stage. I am planning on making more of them since the first one will be too small after shrinking in the kiln. I intend to make a larger more consistent (curved/arched) looking bottle.
Any thoughts?

What a great weekend!

After taking the weekend off in Utah with my dad and cousins, it is time to get back to reality. I had two wonderful days boarding and was converted to skies for the last day to ski Deer Valley. [After not skiing for 5 years, I was somehow able to remember parallel skiing right off the lift...] Anyways... It was a blast! Two days of powder and a "Blue Bird Day" for Deer Valley.

I don't know what I should throw next... Steins are cool, strong and above all else a manly "mug"

Concentration LABELED! Wow! what a relief! I'm enjoying throwing with the crew. Tumblers, is the current scheme I am aiming to make as many as I can. [volume]

Mug ideas.

I have been trying to find the perfect shape of a mug. I personally like the shape of the mug in the picture below (without the thumb part). What type of style do you like in a mug?

Discussion Time

Well since the Final is now here. We must sit down and discuss our projects, hopefully in groups. The discussions will be held together by FOOD. So thanks ahead of time for those of you that bring food.

Blog

Mugs. Mugs. Mugs. MUGS! So my dad requested mugs. I delivered, MUGS. So throwing is my new concentration. If you have any ideas on what would be cool to throw, feel free to comment.

After a trip to San Fran and visiting some galleries in the downtown, I revisited the idea of changing my concentration. I have yet to decide, but it seems like I may go to throwing.
