Styrofoam Week Two

After working with Styrofoam I learned that it is a fun material to work with, but after having to paper mache the whole thing... It may be worth doing out of wood. What do you think?

My inspiration for the week:

  1. If you want a more finished looking styrofoam to work with, you should go get some of the more dense pink stuff from home depot...I have even seen it at Fred Meyer. You can glue it together to make it thicker, sand it, and then paint it with gesso/ primer to protect it from the corrosive nature of spray paint. I think using the papier mache on your last piece helped to give it a much more finished surface.....NOTHING IS EASY SO DON'T BE LAZY!!! THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS.

  2. Thanks Amy. I will look into the "pink stuff" that sounds like something that would work better.
